QUiCK SHOTS

  • Virginia wrestles at home on Friday night for only the second time this season after opening the year with nine consecutive duals on the road or at neutral sites – the Hoos went 7-2 in those duals.
  • The Hoos have three wrestlers ranked in the InterMat rankings as Marlon Yarbrough checks in at No. 28 at 133. Also ranked are Dylan Cedeno (No. 27 at 157 pounds) and Justin McCoy (No. 13 at 174 pounds).
  • Heavyweight Ryan Catka looks to get back in the win column after dropping back-to-back duals against nationally-ranked foes following his 9-0 start to dual competition. Catka is 9-2 in dual action and all nine of his dual victories are bonus-point wins.
  • Justin McCoy is 15-3 on the season with all three defeats coming at the hands of nationally-ranked opponents and is coming off a win over No. 29 Alex Faison in last week’s dual at NC State. He is 9-2 in dual action with a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 18 Max Maylor and a 2-0 loss to No. 2 Mekhi Lewis.
