No. 7 Virginia Falls 7-2 Against No. 3 Princeton
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 7 Virginia women’s squash team (11-4) suffered a 7-2 defeat against No. 3 Princeton (10-2) on Saturday (Feb. 17) at the McArthur Squash Center in Charlottesville, Va.
Sophomore Lina Tammam picked up a 3-1 win against Liven Teoh at position two. Tammam won her final game 12-10 to earn a point for UVA. Freshman Clare Minnis also tallied a point. Her match against Katherine Glaser at five was tied 1-1 and was deep into the third game when Glaser retired with an injury.
Junior Maureen Foley had one of the toughest battles of the day. Foley went to five games against Charlotte Bell at four, with Bell taking the fifth 11-6.
Virginia is 0-7 all-time against the Tigers.
The Cavaliers close out the regular season on Sunday (Feb. 18) when they host No. 8 Cornell (8-8). The match begins at 11 a.m.
