CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sophomore right-hander Eden Bigham has been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week it was announced by the league office on Tuesday (Feb. 27) with the release of its weekly award winners.

It’s the third time Bigham has been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week in her career.

Bigham was electric in the circle over the weekend, posting a 2-0 record with 23 strikeouts through 11.0 innings of work. She also held opponents to a .056 batting average against.

Against Lehigh she set a new career high with 14 strikeouts as she fanned the first 12 batters faced and hit the 14 strikeout mark in the five-inning victory. She allowed only one base runner on the one hit surrendered in the contest.

Bigham then picked up her second win with a relief appearance against Iowa State, working 6.0 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts as the Cavaliers walked off the Cyclones in the ninth inning.

Bigham and the Cavaliers play this afternoon at Radford with a single game at 5 p.m. before returning home to host Boston College to open ACC play this weekend.
