CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced the first round of additions to the 2024 Tewaaraton Award Women’s Watch Lists on Thursday (March 7) which includes Virginia attacker Morgan Schwab.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.

Named a co-captain ahead of the 2024 season, Morgan Schwab (9g, 30a) has been the focal point of the Cavalier offense. Through seven games, Schwab has amassed 30 assists to lead NCAA Division I in the category. Her 39 points are tied for the NCAA Division I lead as well.

On Wednesday (March 6), Schwab set a Virginia single-game record with eight assists in a 20-5 win over Richmond. With 128 career assists to her tally, Schwab needs just two more to eclipse the Virginia career record of 129 set by Lindsay Sheehan in 1986.

Schwab is honored by the Tewaaraton Foundation for the first time in her career and joins the Tewaaraton Watch List alongside co-captain Mackenzie Hoeg who was included in the initial list announced in February.
