CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia first-year Dylan Dietrich has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (March 12) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Dietrich went 2-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles as the Cavaliers picked up a pair of road victories last weekend at North Carolina and No. 15 Duke. Dietrich won tiebreakers in both of his second sets to close out straight-set singles victories against No. 110 Phillip Jordan and Andrew Zhang. The victory against Zhang was the clinching point in the win at Duke. Dietrich also paired with two different doubles partners to collect victories at the No. 3 position.

Dietrich is 10-4 in singles in dual matches and 8-2 in doubles. He is ranked No. 61 in the latest ITA singles rankings.

This is Virginia’s ninth overall weekly honor this season and the fifth time that Dietrich has been named the Freshman of the Week.
