Chervinsky and Collard Named ACC Doubles Team of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia women’s tennis juniors Mélodie Collard and Elaine Chervinsky were named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (April 2) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The tandem picked up a dominant 6-0 victory against the No. 11 duo of Amelia Rajecki and Maddy Zampardo of NC State on Thursday before logging a 6-4 win against the top team from Wake Forest on Saturday. The win against the Wolfpack was their third top-15 victory of the season.

Chervinsky and Collard have moved up to No. 12 in this week’s ITA Doubles rankings.

This is the second ACC Player of the Week honor this season for Collard and Chervinsky and the fourth time the Cavaliers have earned the weekly conference honor.
