CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field team is set to travel back to North Carolina to compete at the Vertklasse Meeting at Vert Stadium on the campus of High Point University in High Point, N.C. Friday (April 5) through Saturday (April 6).

How To Follow
The Vertklasse Meeting will be streamed on ESPN+ which is available through the ESPN app and at WatchESPN.com with participating providers. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. on Friday while coverage begins on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Live Results will also be available using a link posted to VirginiaSports.com. Fans can also follow the program’s official Twitter account (@UVAtfcc) for live updates.

Hoos in the Rankings
In the most recent USTFCCCA Track & Field Ranking Index for the 2024 outdoor season, the men’s team checks in at 16th while the women’s team ranks 18th.

Picking Up Speed
The Cavaliers will look to carry momentum from a record breaking performance at the Raleigh Relays last weekend (March 28-30). Margot Appleton (5000m), Jenny Schilling (10,000m), Will Anthony (10,000m) and Gary Martin (5000m) each broke the school record in their respective events with Appleton also breaking the meet and facility record. Four Cavaliers including Anna Workman (1500m, #5) James Donahue (1500m, #8), Nat Mountain (5000m, #2), John Fay (hammer throw, #3) recorded Virginia top-10 all-time performances.

The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field team will return home for back-to-back weekends of competition at Lannigan Field. First, the Cavaliers will host the Virginia Grand Prix Friday (April 12) through Saturday (April 13). Next, Virginia will host the Virginia Challenge Friday (April 19) and Saturday (April 20).
