Bigham Named ACC Pitcher Of The Week
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sophomore right-hander Eden Bigham has been named ACC Pitcher of the Week by the league office it was announced on Tuesday (April 16) with the release of the weekly award winners.
It is the second time this season Bigham has been tabbed for the honor. She also earned the honor on February 27, after the Rawlings Classic that included a 14-strikeout performance against Lehigh.
This past week, Bigham was 2-0 in the circle with a 1.00 ERA as she picked up both wins in a series victory over NC State. She threw a complete-game shutout of the Wolfpack in the opener and then threw a complete game in the 3-2 victory on Sunday to clinch the series. Bigham struck out 15 batters through the two games.
Virginia takes on No. 15 Virginia Tech tonight at 6 p.m. in the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash.
