CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia, the No. 4 overall seed in the upcoming ACC Championship in Charlotte, N.C., will play 9th-seeded Georgia Tech on Wednesday (May 22) and fifth-seeded Florida State on Friday (May 24) in Pool D play at the ACC Tournament. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 11 a.m. on ACC Network.

All games will be played at Truist Park in Charlotte, N.C., home of the Charlotte Knights, Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The team with the best record coming out of Pool D will advance to the semifinals on Saturday (May 25) with the Championship game slated for Sunday, May 26 at Noon on ESPN2.

ACC TOURNAMENT NOTES

  • Virginia has been part of every ACC Tournament since its inception in 1973 and will make its 50th overall appearance. Only Virginia and Clemson have participated in every ACC Tournament.
  • UVA will play Georgia Tech for the fourth time this season. The Yellow Jackets took two out of three against the Cavaliers in Charlottesville (April 19-21).
  • The Cavaliers will square off against Florida State for the first time this season and the first time since sweeping the Seminoles in a three-game ACC series last season.
  • UVA is the fourth seed for the 12th time in program history and first time since 2017. The Cavaliers have been a top-four seed in the tournament in back-to-back seasons.
  • In ACC Tournament play, Virginia is 8-10 all-time against Florida State and 6-7 against Georgia Tech. The last time the Cavaliers played Florida State in the ACC Tournament in 2022. UVA defeated Georgia Tech, 15-1 (7 innings) in pool play last season.
