CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Four members of the Virginia softball team earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC) it was announced by the organization with the release of the annual team on Tuesday (May 28).

Senior Mikayla Houge, junior Sarah Coon and sophomore Jade Hylton and Courtney Layne were all named to the team for the 2024 season. Coon is on the team for the second straight season, while Houge, Hylton and Layne are all on the list for the first time with this year’s selection.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and be a sophomore or higher in athletic and academic standing at their institution. Nominees must also have participated in 90 percent of their team’s games or started in 66 percent of the contests played (pitchers must have at least 17 appearances or 25.0 innings pitched).
