Chris Rodesch Qualifies for ATP Accelerator Programme

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s Chris Rodesch has been named one of 21 individuals across men’s college tennis to qualify for this year’s ATP Accelerator Programme, as announced today (May 29) by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Created in 2023 to accelerate the professional development pathway for players in the American Collegiate system, the ATP Accelerator Programme will once again offer men’s collegiate student-athletes an opportunity to jumpstart their professional careers on the ATP Challenger Tour.

Players ranked in the Top 20 of the ITA final singles rankings who have finished their education will be granted up to eight Accelerator Spots at Challenger 50 and 75 tournaments, with opportunities split between Main Draw (Top 10) and Qualifying (11-20). Players who reach the Quarter-Final or better of the individual NCAA Division I Tennis Championship will also qualify for the Accelerator Programme if not already eligible via their ITA ranking.

Players who remain in education and qualify for the programme will receive six opportunities over six months (July–December), enabling them to benefit from the programme during their College off-season and parts of their individual fall season.

Rodesch finished the season ranked No. 7 in the final ITA rankings to earn his spot. Rodesch posted a 22-4 record in singles in his final season of play and held a spot in the top 10 of the ITA rankings since mid-February. This is his second straight year qualifying for the program after finishing as a semifinalist in the 2023 NCAA Singles Championship.
