CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Every year UVA men’s golf coach Bowen Sargent looks for two components to build the Cavaliers’ schedule – top-flight competition and outstanding venues. Sargent announced the team’s 2024-25 slate today (June 14) and it fits the bill.

“Our schedule will be one of the best in the country,” Sargent said. “Nearly every event will be either at a prominent golf course or one of the best fields in the country. It should prepare us well for the postseason, which is always one of our primary goals when scheduling.”

Returning three All-Americans after a third-place finish in stroke play at the NCAA Championships, UVA will open its season in Toledo, Ohio, at the historic Inverness Club at the Inverness Intercollegiate (Sept. 9-10). Next, the Cavaliers head to Texas for the Texas Valero Open (Sept. 20-22) held at TPC-San Antonio.

UVA wraps up the fall at the Hamptons Intercollegiate (Oct. 7-8) at Maidstone Club in Long Island, N.Y., before returning to the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate (Oct. 18-20) as the reigning champions.

The first team event of the spring is the Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 10-12) in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico where Bryan Lee shared medalist honors last season. March finds UVA at two of the nation’s top courses. The Cavaliers compete at the Southern Highland Collegiate (March 2-4) in Las Vegas and then at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra, Fla., for the John Hayt Collegiate (March 8-10). UVA’s Deven Patel captured medalist honors at the event in 2023.

UVA returns to Florida for the Calusa Cup (April 6-8) in Naples and then returns to Charlottesville to wrap up the regular season with the third playing of the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial at Birdwood Golf Course.

The ACC Championships are set for April 24-28 in Bowling Green, Ky., and NCAA Regionals will take place May 12-14 at six different tournament sites.

The NCAA Championships (May 23-28) return to the Omni LaCosta Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., to determine the individual and team national champions.
