Becker Receives U.S. Collegiate National Team Training Camp Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Rising sophomore Eric Becker will join the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp scheduled to begin on Wednesday (June 26) in Cary, N.C. He is one of 56 invitees to camp that also features teammate Henry Ford. The Cavaliers have been represented on five of the last six collegiate national teams dating back to 2017, most recently by the duo of Griff O’Ferrall and Jay Woolfolk last summer.

Becker appeared in 45 games as a true freshman for the Cavaliers in 2024. He batted .362 (46-for-127) with nine doubles, three triples, nine homers and 46 RBI. The Thiells, N.Y. native made 39 starts for the Cavaliers, 26 at third base and 13 at second base. He listed on the ACC All-Freshman team and earned a spot on the Charlottesville Regional All-Tournament team thanks to his four-RBI performance against Mississippi State on June 1.

Over his final 20 games of the season, he batted .407 (24-for-59) with three doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 30 RBI. He reached base safely final 30 games played, the third longest streak by a Cavalier in 2024.

The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp will feature 56 of the premier non-draft-eligible college players for a two-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series in North Carolina on June 26 and 27. USA Baseball will name the final Collegiate National Team–inclusive of an International Friendship Series roster and a Summer League Tour roster–following Training Camp on June 29.

Both Training Camp games will be played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, on June 26 and 27. First pitch of both games will be at 6:35 p.m. ET. The International Friendship Series roster will then take on Chinese Taipei in a five-game series, while the Summer League Tour roster will take on select teams from the Appalachian League and the Coastal Plain League in a four-game slate. The schedule will culminate with a Fourth of July matchup between the two U.S. Collegiate National Team rosters on July 4 in Fayetteville, N.C.
