CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s tennis head coach Andres Pedroso announced Wednesday (June 26) that Roy Horovitz (Key Biscayne, Fla.) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the team as a freshman in the fall of 2024.

Horovitz is the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025. He has been ranked as high as No. 17 in the ITF Junior world rankings and has competed in all four of the Junior Grand Slams, advancing to the Round of 16 in singles at this year’s Junior Australian Open and making the semifinals at Junior Wimbledon in 2023. He advanced to the semifinals in March at the  ITF J300 in San Diego and has won one singles and three doubles junior titles, including partnering with current Cavalier Stefan Regalia at the Panama Bowl. He has twice advanced to the second round of ITF WTT M15 tournaments, most recently at the Palm Coast Open in Florida in February of this year.

Horovitz joins Rafael Jodar (Madrid, Spain), Keegan Rice (Regina, Canada) and Stiles Brockett (Fairfax, Va.) as the incoming freshman class.
