The 68th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll, recognizing academic excellence by student-athletes during the 2023-24 academic year, was announced today (July 11) by the league.

Virginia placed 538 student-athletes on the Honor Roll. A total of 68 Cavaliers were recognized for the fourth time during their careers and 16 received the honor for the fifth time. UVA also had its first six-time honoree in wrestler Justin McCoy. The group of five-time honorees includes: Isabella Bird (rowing), Emma Dawson (women’s soccer), Madelyn Donohoe (women’s swimming/diving), Jacob Hunter (men’s cross country/track & field), Adele Iacobucci (field hockey), Laura Janssen (field hockey), August Lamb (men’s swimming/diving), Jacob Lemmon (men’s track & field), Connor Murphy (men’s cross country/track & field), Margaret Nelson (women’s swimming/diving), Kaitlin Shaw (women’s lacrosse), Natasha Subhash (women’s tennis), Celeste Valinho (women’s golf), Ethan Weatherspoon (wrestling), Mitchell Whalen (men’s lacrosse) and Cayla White (women’s soccer).

The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. This marks the most-ever student-athlete honorees (6,187) and fifth consecutive year in which at least 5,500 ACC student-athletes have achieved Honor Roll status.

During the course of the year, UVA had a record 343 student-athletes named to ACC All-Academic teams and two were named Scholar-Athletes of the Year for their respective sport – Gretchen Walsh (women’s swimming and diving) and Chris Rodesch (men’s tennis).
