CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – When the Virginia football team opens its season against Richmond on Aug. 31 at Scott Stadium, UVA fans will see an entirely new look to the facility’s iconic Hill at the north end zone.

A new 6,700-square-foot end zone video display, along with a custom point-source audio system at Scott Stadium, was installed this summer by Daktronics. The new video display will feature 10-millimeter pixel spacing and light up more than six million pixels to deliver crisp, clear imagery to fans throughout Scott Stadium. The display will measure approximately 54 feet high by 125 feet wide, more than twice the size of the previous display, to deliver all the video, replays and graphics fans have come to expect at live sporting events.

The size and location of the video display and its support structure will slightly relocate the two Commonwealth Club locations that have been present at Scott Stadium in recent seasons.

New access points to the Hill are also being installed to help manage capacity and improve safety issues in the area. The five entrances will be located off the brickyard plaza at the top of the Hill.

Access to the Hill will be limited to UVA students, VAF membership card holders, season ticket holders, mini-plan ticket holders, Cavman’s Crew (8th grade and under) and designated groups on a per-game basis.

Parents can enroll children in Cavman’s Crew at this link.

The pergola area at the top of the Hill, that features the Legends Walk and several concession options, will still be accessible from both the east and west stands.
