PARIS – Former Cavalier Andrenette Knight qualified for the women’s 4x400m relay final as a member of Team Jamaica on Friday (August 9) at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In her Olympic Games debut, Andrenette Knight set Team Jamaica’s 4x400m relay up for success. Knight ran the opening leg of the four-person relay with a split time of 51.69. The quartet of Stephanie Ann McPherson, Ashley Williams, Charokee Young and Knight combined to record a season best time of 3:24.92. The four finished just ahead of the Netherlands in 3:25.03 to win the second heat in the first-round competition. Their time was good for fourth place overall between the two sections.

To qualify for the final, relay teams must finish in the top three in their heat for an automatic qualifying position (Q) or be one of the next two fastest times among all sections (q). Advancing to the final along with Jamaica are automatic qualifiers in the USA, Great Britain, France, Netherlands and Ireland. The two-time qualifiers include Belgium and Canada.

The final of the women’s 4x400m relay is set to be contested on Saturday, August 10 at 3:14 p.m. ET.
