PARIS – Former Cavalier Andrenette Knight represented Jamaica in the final of the women’s 4x400m relay on Saturday (August 10) at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

After an impressive run in the preliminary round, Team Jamaica put themselves in good position heading into the final. The quartet of Stephenie Ann McPherson, Ashley Williams, Charokee Young and Knight combined to record a season best time of 3:24.92 to secure their chance to run for an Olympic medal. Knight recorded a split of 51.69 in her Olympic games debut.

In the final, the quartet of Stacey Ann Williams, Shiann Salmon, Stephenie Ann McPherson and Knight ran out of lane eight of nine. Lining up in an outer lane, Williams was able to chase France out of the blocks with the rest of the field behind her. Williams handed the baton off to Knight on the second leg, just behind Team USA. Running in the second position, Knight was leading the chase pack trying to catch Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone of the USA. With 150 meters to go, the pack bunched up and Knight dropped the baton. Despite a strong run, Team Jamaica did not finish the race and thus recorded a ‘DNF’ (Did not finish).
