JAPAN – The No. 15 Virginia women’s golf team is in first place following the first round of play at the Pan-Pacific UGSL Tournament in Mishima, Shizuoka, Japan on Wednesday (Sept. 4). The Cavaliers posted an opening round of 2-under 286 to lead the field.

Amanda Sambach was Virginia’s top finisher shooting 5-under 67 to lead all participants after the first round.

Jaclyn LaHa, Chloe Schiavone, and Kennedy Swedick each shot 1-over 73 to finish the first round in a tie for 13th-place while Megan Propeck shot 4-over 76 tied for 42nd

Three Cavaliers are competing as individuals including: Maggie Whitehead (4-over 76, T42), Ally Black (5-over 77, T56), and Kiera Bartholomew (7-over 79, T71).

The second round will get underway on Wednesday night (Sept. 4). Results will be posted to VirginiaSports.com Thursday morning.
