CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s golf team came in at No. 4 in the Golfweek and No. 5 in the Golf Channel Preseason rankings. The Cavaliers are coming off their second-straight match play appearance in NCAA Championships which features the top eight teams after stroke play competition.

Virginia returns a trio of players who earned All-America honors a season ago – Ben James (Ping/CGCA – 1st Team & Golfweek – 1st Team), Josh Duangmanee (Ping/CGCA – Honorable Mention) and Bryan Lee (Golfweek – Honorable Mention).

The Cavaliers are under the direction of head coach Bowen Sargent who enters his 21st season at the helm. UVA has made 16-straight NCAA postseason appearances and returns nine student-athletes from its 2023-24 squad.

UVA will open its season in Toledo, Ohio, at the historic Inverness Club at the Inverness Intercollegiate (Sept. 9-10). It will be the first of four fall tournaments for the Cavaliers.
