Virginia Wins Pan-Pacific UGSL Tournament
JAPAN – Virginia’s Amanda Sambach turned in a first-place finish to lead the Virginia women’s golf team to a victory at the Pan-Pacific UGSL Tournament. The Cavaliers shot 2-over 290 on Friday’s final round for a 54-hole total of 3-over 867.
Sambach wrapped up the tournament posting 2-over 74 for a three-day total of 9-under 207. The first-place finish marked her fifth career tournament win.
Freshman Kennedy Swedick led the Cavaliers on the final day posting 1-under 71 to tie for seventh in her collegiate debut at 1-over 215. Jaclyn LaHa shot 1-over 73 to tie for 25th place at 7-over 223 while Chloe Schiavone posted 2-over 74 in the final round to tie for 27th at 8-over 224. Megan Propeck turned in her best round of the tournament shooting even par 72. Propeck finished tied for 35th at 10-over 226.
Competing as individuals, Ally Black and Kiera Bartholomew each turned in rounds of 3-over 75. Black tied for 31st with a three-day score of 6-over 225 while Bartholomew tied for 46th at 12-over 228. Maggie Whitehead posted 7-over 79 on the final day. She tied for 58th at 14-over 230.
The individual competition at the Pan-Pacific UGSL Tournament includes both men and women while the team competition is separated.
