Men's Tennis at the ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla.–  Virginia men’s tennis team members will compete at the ITA Men’s All-American Championship Sept. 21-29 at the Michael Case Tennis Center.

The All-American is the first opportunity for players to qualify for this year’s NCAA Individual Championships. Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists). Four doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists).

Junior Måns Dahlberg will begin play in the prequalifying singles bracket on Saturday, Sept. 21 while sophomore Dylan Dietrich begins play on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the main draw.

The 2024 ITA Men’s All-American Championships will have a draw size of the following, Singles: Pre-Qualifying (128), Qualifying (64), Main Draw (64) and Doubles: Pre-Qualifying (32), Qualifying (32), Main Draw (32). Sixteen players will advance from prequalifying into the qualifying draw. Sixteen players will advance from the qualifying draw into the main draw. Each bracket also has consolation rounds for players who drop their first-round matches.

MAIN DRAW

Dylan Dietrich dropped his opener against Alexander Bernard of Ohio State. He began play in the consolation bracket on Thursday against Kyle Kang of Stanford, picking up a 6-0, 6-4 win before falling against Theo Dean of Yale in the Round of 32.

PREQUALIFYING RECAP

Mans Dahlberg won his first-round match against Matthis Ross of Texas A&M, but fell in a three-setter against Alabama’s Zach Foster.
