No. 3 Virginia Faces No. 9 Duke Friday in Durham
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 3 Virginia field hockey team (7-0, 2-0 ACC) faces its second top-10 opponent of the year when it faces No. 9 Duke (4-3, 0-0 ACC) on Friday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m. at Jack Katz Field in Durham, N.C.

MATCH NOTES
- Virginia remained at No. 3 in the NFHCA Poll, a position they have held since the preseason poll
- Virginia is one of four unbeaten teams remaining in NCAA Division I
- The Cavaliers 7-0 start is their best start since 2013. UVA’s last 8-0 start came in 2010 when the team started 9-0
- The Cavaliers are averaging 3.43 goals per game, ranking second in the ACC and seventh in the nation. They are holding opponents to 1.12 goals per game, rankings eighth in the NCAA
- Virginia has 17 active field players this season. 15 of them have logged points, either scoring a goal or contributing an assist
- Friday’s game is UVA’s third-straight game against an ACC opponent. It is the first time since 2012 that UVA has played three consecutive regular-season conference games
