David Earns ACC Weekly Honors
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Tatum David of the Virginia women’s cross country program was named the first ACC Women’s Freshman of the Week for the 2024 season after her performance at the 2024 Panorama Farms Invitational, the league office announced Tuesday (Oct. 22).
Finishing fourth in a time of 20:38.2, David was one of four Cavaliers in the top five finishers at the 2024 Panorama Farms Invitational. The Olney, Ill., native recorded a new personal best by nearly one minute for the 6k course in just her third race of the season. The Virginia women finished atop the team standings with 17 points to beat out ACC rival, Virginia Tech in second place with 70 points. Led by Jenny Schilling, the Cavaliers recorded a 1-2-4-5-8-9 finish to secure six of the top 10 spots.
The Virginia No.16 men’s and No.21 women’s cross country teams will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 1 as the Cavaliers compete at the 2024 ACC Cross Country Championships in Cary, N.C. The men’s 8 race is set to being at 9:30 a.m. while the women’s 6k race will being at 10:30 a.m.
