Virginia Competes at UNC Friday
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for a dual match against North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 1.
Diving begins at 4 p.m. Swimming begins at 5 p.m.

MEET NOTES
- The Virginia women are No. 1 in the latest CSCAA poll. The men are No. 15
- The North Carolina women are No. 21 in the CSCAA poll. The men are unranked
- This will be the ACC opener for both teams
- This is the first meet of the year for the Cavaliers swimming traditional NCAA distances after swimming 300/150s in the intrasquad Navy meet and short course meters against Florida
- Gretchen Walsh was named the ACC Swimmer of the Week after setting a world record and four American records in the Florida meet
- Junior Aimee Canny won the 200 Free setting both the African continental record and the South African national record. She also won the 200 Breast
- Sophomore Claire Curzan won two individual events, the 100 Fly and the 200 Back in her first dual meet with the Cavaliers. She spent her freshman year at Stanford before sitting out last season to focus on international competition
- Freshman Anna Moesch won the 100 Free in her collegiate dual match debut against Florida
- Grad student Noah Nichols had the lone win for the men against the No. 3 Gators, taking the 200 Breast

- The Cavaliers compete at the Tennessee Invite Nov. 20-22, a three-day meet featuring some of top teams in the nation
- This is the final dual match of the 2024 calendar year. UVA returns to dual match action on Saturday, Jan. 11 when the men and women host Virginia Tech
