Virginia Earns NFHCA Academic Honors

The Cavaliers earned the team honor for the 14th straight year, with Lauren Kenah recognized as a Scholar of Distinction for the third straight year

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association with the 2024 NFHCA National Academic Team Award, the 14th-straight year the squad earned that distinction.

Junior Lauren Kenah was named an NFHCA Scholars of Distinction for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2024-25 year. This is her third straight year earning the honor

Eight Cavaliers were named to the National Academic Squad, which honors undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.

In addition to Kenah, Mia Abello, Jans Croon, Sloan Davidson, Emily Field, Tyler Kennedy, Caroline Nemec and Amelie Rees were named to the National Academic Squad.

The National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
