Cavaliers Set for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

The Virginia Track & Field team travels to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center Friday and Saturday,March 13-14.

Fayetteville, Ark. – The Virginia No. 10 men’s and women’s track and field teams made the trip to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday (March 13-14) at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Virginia NCAA Indoor Championships Notes
  • At the 2025 Championships, the Cavalier men recorded the highest team finish in program history as the team finished sixth in the team standings scoring a total of 23 points.
  • Last season, Martin finished runner-up in the 3000-meters (7:52.69) and anchored the DMR team to victory.
  • The men's DMR team of Conor MurphyAlex ShermanWes Porter, and Martin won the first NCAA Indoor DMR title in program history clocking 9:15.12 to also break the meet record.
  • Nubbe finished fourth in the men's weight throw competition throwing for 24.17m/79-3.75
  • Both Martin and Nubbe are set to make their third NCAA Indoor Championships appearance, Nubbe's second for Virginia (previous: Texas).
  • The Virginia women’s best team finish was back in 1983 when the Cavaliers tied for fifth place with 17.25 points.
  • The last time Virginia men had an individual National Champion at the NCAA Indoor Championship was in 2019 when Jordan Scott won the men’s triple jump with his mark of 16.89m.
