CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior Vivian Yang has been named the ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (March 17) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Yang went 2-0 in singles over the weekend, helping the Cavaliers improve to 4-0 in conference play with wins at No. 18 Clemson and Georgia Tech. She notched a 6-2, 6-3 win over Clemson's Jade Groen on Thursday, followed by a 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 victory against Georgia Tech's Alejandra Cruz on Saturday.
Yang and partner Melodie Collard are ranked No. 4 nationally in doubles, and the pair picked up two ranked doubles wins as well.
A transfer from Pepperdine, Yang twice earned Doubles Team of the Week honors in the West Coast Conference. This is her first conference Player of the Week award.
