CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia men's tennis team (14-2) takes on two top-25 opponents on the road this weekend. The Cavaliers begin in Raleigh, N.C., on Friday (March 20) to take on No. 21 NC State at 5:30 p.m. Virginia then heads to Winston-Salem, N.C., to visit No. 4 Wake Forest on Sunday (March 22) at 1 p.m.
CAVALIER NOTES
- The Cavaliers reclaimed No. 1 in the latest ITA Team Rankings.
- Last weekend, the Cavaliers downed Duke and North Carolina at home to improve to 6-0 in ACC play.
- Senior Måns Dahlberg and sophomore Jangjun Kim were named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week on Tuesday (March 17) after notching two key wins last weekend.
- The Cavaliers have four players currently appearing in the ITA Singles rankings: junior Dylan Dietrich at two, sophomore Keegan Rice at No. 12, freshman Andres Santamarta Roig at No. 42 and Kim at No. 110.
- Virginia has three ranked doubles pairings: NCAA Doubles Champions Dietrich and Dahlberg at No. 3, Dietrich and sophomore Stiles Brockett at No. 11 and Dahlberg and Kim at No. 31.
- Dietrich owns the team lead for dual match singles wins with eleven while Dahlberg and Kim lead the doubles effort with a 9-3 mark.
NOTES ON DUKE AND NORTH CAROLINA
- The Cavaliers are 63-16 all-time against NC State.
- The Cavaliers are 68-27 all-time against Wake Forest, with No. 6 Virginia downing the No. 1 Demon Deacons 4-3 in their last meeting at the ACC Semifinals in April 2025.
