LaHa Two Back at Florida State Match Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Junior Jaclyn LaHa shot a 1-under 71 in the first round of the Florida State Match Up on Friday (March 20). She is tied for seventh and two strokes behind co-leaders Sophia Fullbrook (Florida State) and Jasmine Leovao (Eastern Michigan) after the first 18 holes.

LaHa was one of 10 golfers to shoot under par in the opening round thanks three birdies against just two bogeys. Competing as an individual, Remi Baccardi shot a 1-over 73 and is tied for 15th place. The score was the lowest of any of the nine individual competitors and matches her second-best round of the spring.

As a team, the Cavaliers are tied with Illinois for seventh place after a 10-over, 298. Junior Mira Berglund and sophomore Kennedy Swedick each posted 3-over, 75s in their opening rounds while Elise MacCleery rounded out the UVA counting scores with a 77 on day one. 

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Collectively, Virginia was one of three teams (Tulsa, Illinois) under par on the Seminole Legacy Club Par 3s. UVA was 1-over with an average score of 2.95.
  • Bacardi and Berglund each had four birdies on the day, tied for the third most of any player in the field. Bacardi birdied three of the four Par 5s.
