WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Freshman Michael Lee turned in his second top 10 finish of his young Cavalier career after he tied for fourth at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate on Tuesday (March 24). He was 3-under for the tournament and had his lowest 54-hole score of the season (210).
Lee finished two strokes behind co-medalists, Jack Tarzy (Navy) and Matt Zerfass (Villanova) and was the top among 26 individual entrants. Host Williams & Mary won the team competition, edging Villanova by three strokes. With three players in the field, Virginia did not compete in the tournament as a team.
Lee started his day on No. 18 and recovered from an opening double bogey with birdies in three of his next six holes. He closed his round with birdies on two of his last three to move into a tie for fourth with William & Mary’s Eli Felty.
Junior Sam O’Hara recorded his best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 1-over 73. He totaled four birdies and carded an eagle on the 498-yard par 5 second hole. O’Hara moved up 16 spots and tied for 66th.
First year Alex Wells completed the tournament at 7-over, good for 28th place. He shot a 77 on Tuesday, a round that featured back-to-back birdies on No. 12 and No. 13.

Virginia will return to team competition on April 6-8 at the Calusa Cup in Naples, Fla.
