No. 13 Virginia Home For Two Weekend Matches

Virginia hosts No. 24 Duke on Friday at 4 p.m. and No. 5 North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m. in their first home contests in a month

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 13 Virginia women’s tennis team (13-4, 6-0) hosts two home matches this weekend at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar's Head Resort.

Virginia will take on No. 24 Duke (11-4, 5-0 ACC) on Friday, March 27 at 4 p.m. and No. 5 North Carolina (17-1, 5-0 ACC) on Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m.

Live Streaming and live scoring will be available for both matches. Both will also be included in the Cracked Racquets ACC CrossCourt Coverage this weekend on ACCNX.

Admission is free for all regular-season matches.

VIRGINIA NOTES

  • The Cavaliers moved up to No. 13 in the latest ITA Team Rankings
  • Virginia, Duke and North Carolina are all undefeated in conference play heading into this weekend's matches
  • These are Virginia's first home matches since playing SMU on Feb. 22
  • These will be the Cavaliers' first matches of the spring season on their home outdoor courts 
  • Katie Rolls was named the ACC Freshman of the Week this week after picking up two road wins last week at Miami and Florida State. She leads the team with 11 dual match victories this spring
  • Isabelle Lacy is 10-1 in dual matches in the spring and has won her last three completed matches
  • Both Virginia head coach Sara O’Leary and associate head coach Gina Suarez-Malaguti are North Carolina alumnae. O'Leary, who won an NCAA doubles title while at UNC, went on to serve as an assistant coach for the Tar Heels from 2008-14, being named the ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2011
