Sunderland Added to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

The award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia senior attackman Truitt Sunderland has been named a second-round addition to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, the Tewaaraton Award Foundation announced Thursday (March 26). Sunderland joins fellow UVA attackman McCabe Millon and defenseman John Schroter, who were previously named to the Foundation’s preseason watch list in February.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

The final wave of midseason additions comes before the men’s and women’s lists are narrowed to 25 nominees each on April 26.

Five men’s and five women’s finalists will be announced in early May. Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season, when winners will be announced live on May 28 at the Tewaaraton Ceremony in Washington, D.C.
