CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 13 Virginia women’s tennis team (14-4, 7-0 ACC) defeated No. 24 Duke (11-5, 5-1 ACC) by a 4-2 score on Friday (March 27) on the indoor courts at the Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Va.
The Cavaliers won the doubles point and built a 3-0 lead with straight-set singles victories by freshman Katie Rolls on court four and senior Annabelle Xu on court three.
The remaining four courts all went to third sets.
Duke picked up wins on courts two and three to make it 3-2 before senior Mélodie Collard closed out a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win on court six to seal the victory.
