Charlotte Pastel Named MASC Player of the Year

Charlotte Pastel becomes the second recipient of the award as a member of UVA women's squash.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women's squash freshman Charlotte Pastel has been named the Women's Player of the Year in honors announced Tuesday (March 31) by the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference.

Pastel is the second member of the women's squash program to take home player of the year honors, joining Meagan Best who won in both 2023 and 2024.

Pastel finished the season tied for team lead in wins with a 13-5 record playing exclusively at position one. After beginning the season with five consecutive wins, she notched wins against No. 7 Cornell and No. 15 Georgetown. She held a six-match win streak from Feb. 13- March 6, including three victories in Virginia's run in the MASC Championships and a pair of 3-1 wins in the CSA Team Championships over No. 11 Dartmouth and No. 3 Stanford.

Pastel earned her first invitation to compete in the Ramsay Cup, where she reached the round of 16.

She also won MASC Rookie of the Year as announced Monday (March 30).
