CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia's Kaitlyn Rolls has been named the ACC Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (March 31) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
No. 83 Rolls picked up two significant singles wins for the Cavaliers over the weekend. She started the weekend with a straight-set victory against Shavit Kimchi of Duke before tallying the biggest win of her career on Sunday with a dominant win against No. 7 Oby Kajuru of North Carolina. This was the highest-ranked player Rolls has faced in her career and her first Top 10 victory.
Rolls improved to 7-1 in the ACC this season and has won her last five completed matches.
This is her second straight week being named the ACC Freshman of the Week.
