CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s Varsity Eight was named the ACC Crew of the Week today (March 31) for its standout performance at the Doc Hosea Invitational on March 29 on Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.
UVA Varsity Eight raced past No. 12 Syracuse (6:24.6) and Northeastern (6:50.0) during the morning session with a time of 6:21.1. The Cavaliers defeated No. 16 Penn (6:35.5) by more than 14 seconds in the afternoon session, crossing the line at 6:20.2. The V8 posted two of then-No. 9 Virginia’s 11 victories on the day.
The V8 crew comprised of coxswain Brie Joe, stroke Paula Lutz, Skylar Morrison, Flynn Greene, Elsa Hartman, Kennedy Housley, Claudia Kerry-Roger, Lila Henn and bow Maddie Agudelo.
The No. 6 Cavaliers return to action at the Ivy League Invitational on Saturday, April 11 in Princeton, N.J.
