up a 10-4 decision over Tasi Mathis of VMI (1/8)
• Also competed at the Mat Town Open (11/22), the Nittany Lion Open (12/7) and the Southern Scuffle (1/1-1/2)

2014-15
• Wrestled in three matches during injury-plagued season
• Selected to ACC Academic Honor Roll

2013-14
• Went 15-16 against tough slate during redshirt sophomore season
• Took sixth place at Cliff Keen/Las Vegas Invitational (12/6-7)
• Finished eighth at Southern Scuffle (1/1-2)
• Earned No. 20 national ranking from Amateur Wrestling News following Southern Scuffle
• Recorded four wins by fall

2012-13
• Redshirt season
• Was 10-4 while competing in open tournaments
• Took fourth place at East Stroudsburg Open (11/17), posting six wins
• Finished sixth at Mat Town Open (11/24)

2011-12
• Went 17-12 while spending much of season as starter at heavyweight
• Placed third at ACC Championships, earning three wins (3/3)
• Finished third at NC State Open (11/13)
• Took fourth place at Body Bar Invitational
• Kept his matches close – all 12 of his losses came by four points or fewer

DIXIE HIGH SCHOOL
• Two-time state champion at 215 pounds (2010, 2011)
• State runner-up in 2009
• Four-time all-area selection
• Coached by Doug Campbell at Dixie
• Also played football (linebacker) and baseball (catcher) for four years
• First-team all-league and second-team all-area selection in baseball
• First-team all-league and defensive LB MVP for his area
• Member of National Honor Society
• Also served as his class president for two years as well as student council president his senior year

PERSONAL
• Parents are Eddie Hayes and Valarie Odonell
• Has two sisters, Kassie Snyder and Kristy Hayes, and two brothers, Tyler and Ryan
• Brother, Ryan, played football and baseball at Earlham College
