• Had an extremely successful career playing club hockey in The Netherlands, moving up to senior level (18+) at the age of 15.
• In 2012-13, was the top goal scorer for HV Victoria Rotterdam, helping her squad finish in first place in the top league and second place in the national tournament
• Played both field and indoor hockey for HC Leonidas Rotterdam, and is the top goal scorer in both leagues
• Was a decorated skiier, finishing first in 2004 and second in 2003 in the slalom in the national championships before choosing to focus on hockey

• Daughter of Ellen Akkerman and Frns van Zinnicq Bergmann
• Older sister, Leonore, was also a skiier who competed at the national championships in the slalom, finishing first in 2002 and second in 2001 and 2002
• Father, Frans, was a member of The Netherlands’ speed skating national team (1978-79)
