Geusgens played pivotal role in a weekend road trip that saw the Cavaliers post a key ACC win at No. 5 Louisville and add a shutout victory at Miami (Ohio). After helping Virginia limit Louisville to just one goal and four shots on goal in Friday’s 2-1 win, Geusgens did it all for the Cavaliers in Sunday’s game at Miami. leading a backline defense that did not allow the Redhawks to take a single shot and did not yield a penalty corner. She also scored Virginia’s lone goal in the 1-0 victory on a hard strike off an offensive penalty corner
- Was also named the Synapse Sports NCAA Division I National Rookie of the Week (Oct. 15)
- In addition to the game-winner against Miami, also scored game-winning goals against Yale and at Syracuse
- Appeared in all 23 games with 22 starts
High School/Club Hockey
- Has been playing hockey since the age of six for Hockey Club HGC in the Netherlands, including spending the past two years playing for its A1 team
- In 2017-18 in the Super A league, won the outdoor championship and finished in second place at nationals
- Won an outdoor championship in 2013-14 in the top league with the C2 team after winning an indoor championship the year before with the D1 team
- Also plays tennis
- Spent two years volunteering at Meet and Move Camp, a sports camp for refugee children aged six to 12
