• Yar Shayok played at Detroit, where she was named to the Horizon League All-Defense Team in 2011 after leading the league in rebounding at 10.2 per game
• Shayok Shayok played two seasons at UMKC and two seasons at Bradley
• Served as a counselor at the Blair Academy Basketball Camp
• Chose Virginia for its great academics and basketball program
