Dawson Chitwood
Dawson Chitwood Pronunciation
TIFFANY ON CHITWOOD
2025 – “No one, and I mean no one, gets more done in a day, a week or a collegiate career than Dawson. Where is Dawson should be a trivia contest show, complete with hundreds of possibilities? Somewhere in Kansas driving east on I-70 returning from a Rockies camping trip? Replacing the carpet in a local home? At the beginning of practice, despite only being there for 15 minutes before he has to leave for a Friday afternoon Biology exam? In a different age, calling him MacGyver would resonate with his peers as well as coaches.” 2024 – “Dawson is resolute in going above-and-beyond with everything he puts his name on. The definition of a grinder, Dawson’s successes are attributed to the tenacity he brings to the task at hand. He simply won’t stop. Though he possesses an effective left-handed shot, both with his feet set and out of a roll dodge, Dawson continues to compete as a short-stick defensive midfielder for us. There is a pureness surrounding the impact and effort Dawson brings to our program with every training session and cultural discussion.” 2023 – “The willingness to compete with nothing in reserve, holding nothing back, is seen in Dawson with everything we do. Despite a very demanding academic challenge he has undertaken as a mechanical engineer with a minor in business, Dawson is around the field more and more outside of our normal training times. His stick work continues to improve and he relishes the weight room. Dawson’s mindset and determination match ideally with the toughest position in lacrosse: short-stick defensive midfielder.” 2022 – “Playing as a SSDM for us … Competes with a tenacious edge … Powerful punch with his checks … Fantastic work ethos in the weight room … one of our most technically sound in there.”
