TIFFANY ON McFARLANE
2025 – “College athletics is filled with highly-touted recruits and later-developing talent: both are key for us! Burke has redefined himself, climbing up the depth chart despite more heralded names adorning the list. Watch what happens at the end of a practice: Burke stays late, often grabbing a defender (ex. Cole Kastner in the past) so he can hone his dodging techniques. Burke is making progress in the weight room too, closing in on the 1,000 lb club with the big 3 (squat, clean, bench) maxes. He has trained himself to become one of our most dynamic dodgers.” 2024 – “Burke continues to defy both the roster limitations and degree of difficulty with earning his place with our program. The spirit he competes with is clear to observe. He attacks the goal with speed and he is free of hesitation. Burke has a stealthy change of direction with his dodging, using it to set up both his right and left hands. The renewed commitment he has placed on his academics does not go without notice either. Burke is stepping up his entire game and making his mark here.” 2023 – “We entered this Fall with a larger roster than normal due to seven men pursuing an advanced degree and taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility.  Grim was the expectation that any non-recruit would show up during tryouts and make their way onto our team.  But that is exactly what Burke did: he snatched a spot with our program when there really wasn’t one available due to his ability to create openings with a quick burst and to put the ball in the net.  We are fortunate Burke ignored the warnings.”

WHY UVA?
