2021 Davis Cup Recap


  • Ranked No. 115 in the ITA preseason singles rankings, moving up to No. 13 in the final rankings of the fall (12/8)
  • Ranked No. 5 in doubles with Ryan Goetz (12/8)
  • Consolation doubles champion at the ITA All-American, partnering with Ryan Goetz (10/9)
  • Runner-up in singles at the ITA All-American consolation singles bracket (10/9)
  • Opened the fall portion of the season with three wins in singles and three in doubles at the Orange & Blue Classic (9/27)
  • Extended his season-opening win streak to six in both singles and doubles by going 3-0 in both in the ITA All-American qualifying tournament (10/01)
  • Advanced through doubles qualifying into the main draw at the ITA All-American, partnering with Ryan Goetz (10/5). After falling into the consolation draw, picked up wins against the No. 3 team from UCF and the No. 9 team from Duke (10/9)
  • Picked up his highest-ranked singles win of his career in the consolation bracket, topping No. 14 Andy Andrade of Florida in straight sets (10/7)

Summer 2021

  • Went 4-0 in singles in Davis Cup Europe Group III ties,  including winning in straight-sets against Iceland’s Anton Magnusson in the relegation playoff in Larnaca, Cyprus (6/19). This was his second time representing Luxembourg in Davis Cup, also doing so in 2019
  • Won the national club championship as part of Team Spora at the SEAT League Championships in Luxembourg (7/5)


  • All-ACC Academic Team
  • Finished his rookie campaign with a 15-7 record in singles (playing mainly courts 3-5, ending the season at 3) and 11-7 in doubles, going 8-3 in the ACC
  • Clinched the Cavaliers 4-2 victory against Stanford in the NCAA Championship second round by  coming back after trailing 5-1 in the third set against Tristan Boyer, winning it in a tiebreaker (5/9)
  • Named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week (Jan. 27) after he and partner Ryan Goetz clinched both doubles points at the ITA Kickoff Weekend matches
  • Named the ACC Singles Co-Player of the Week (Mar. 30) after clinching UVA’s wins against Duke and No. 1 North Carolina, winning both of his matches on Court 3 in straight sets while taking on ranked opponents
  • Earned his first ITA singles ranking in the second update of the season, coming in at No. 118 (3/30)
  • Ranked No. 5 in the final ITA Atlantic Region doubles rankings
  • Defeated the No. 37-ranked duo of Justin Trotter and Jason Boulais in doubles en route to UVA’s 4-2 victory over No. 3 Ohio State at ITA Kickoff Weekend (1/23)
  • VaSID All-State First Team in doubles

  • Member of the Luxembourg Davis Cup team, playing in 2019 in Group III ties against Greece, Monaco, Poland and Montenegro. Picked up a three-set win over Wake Forest’s Rrezart Cungu in the Davis Cup tie against Montenegro
  • Also competed in Europe Group III ties in 2021, going 4-0 in singles in his matches
  • Career-high ITF junior world singles ranking of No. 57
  • Competed all over Europe on the ITF World Junior Tour, winning three international singles titles at the ALK Open in Finland, Justin Henin Junior Cup in Belgium and Talkea Open in Luxembourg, as well as three singles finalist appearances
