Andrew Sadler
Andrew Sadler joined the Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) in December 2023 and currently serves as the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Strategic Initiatives, previously serving as the director of annual giving. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day strategy and operations for the VAF’s annual giving program, including the Annual Fund, which raises funds annually to support scholarships for Virginia’s 25 NCAA-sanctioned teams. Through meaningful engagement with Sabre Society members, he helps secure commitments to advance Virginia Athletics priorities.
Sadler serves as a key liaison with internal and external partners, including Athletics Administration, Athletics Ticket Office, University External Affairs, and Paciolan. He coordinates the Benefits and Development Committee for the VAF Board of Trustees.
Sadler joined the VAF after spending more than five years with the University of Georgia Athletic Association (UGAAA) and The Georgia Bulldog Club (TGBC). He began with TGBC in September 2019 and held various roles as an intern, graduate assistant, assistant director of development for annual giving, and associate director of development. Sadler provided robust operational support for the annual giving program that raised nearly $40M per year. As part of the $300M Commit to the G campaign, he partnered with Magill Society members to raise over $3M in support of Georgia Athletics priorities. Sadler was an integral team member in achieving record fundraising totals of $86.4M in FY22 and $101M in FY23.
He originally joined the UGAAA in August 2018 and worked as a Marketing and Sales Intern. Sadler administered the student internship program, supervising 22 undergraduate interns that generated over $20K in ticket revenue in partnership with IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions. He led efforts for football gameday experiences to create memorable experiences for fans and supporters, generating over $30K in revenue.
Sadler’s career in collegiate athletics began as a Lead Marketing Intern with Xavier University’s Athletics Department, where he supported game day operations, sponsorship fulfillment, giveaway distribution, and the execution of in-game promotions. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he also served as a Building Supervisor at the Blue Ash Recreation Center and held internships with ProCamps, Walnut Hills High School Athletics, and Cincinnati Public Schools Athletics Departments. In 2018, he partnered with representatives from FC Cincinnati on a project focused on generating revenue and increasing attendance through single-game ticket sales. In 2017, he collaborated with FOX Sports representatives to develop a marketing campaign aimed at driving awareness and excitement for BIG EAST basketball on FS1 and positioning FOX Sports as the premier network for college basketball.
He received a Master of Science in Sport Management and Policy, as well as a certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Georgia. Sadler earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Xavier University.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he currently resides in Charlottesville.
