Brittni Hoover joined the Virginia athletics department in the Fall of 2026 with her primary responsibility providing medical coverage for the football program and secondary medical coverage of the spirit squads. Hoover came to UVA after a four-year stint at UNC Charlotte working with both football and softball programs there. Before transitioning to football, she had a successful career in softball, providing medical care for the team throughout their C-USA Regular Season Championship, as well as during their inaugural year with the American Conference, where they were the Regular Season Co-Champions and Tournament Champions. She also served as a preceptor for the UNC Charlotte Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program.
Prior to her arrival in Charlotte, Hoover worked as an Intern Athletic Trainer with Georgia Tech Football (2021-2022), as well as the Cheerleading programs, who won the Co-Ed ACC Championship in 2022.
In 2019, Hoover completed her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Berry College in Rome, GA. She was a student-athlete as a member of the Women’s Swim Team and Women’s Lacrosse Team. She completed her Master of Science in Athletic Training degree at The University of South Carolina in 2021. During her time in Columbia, she completed clinical rotations with the Gamecocks’ Football and Women’s Soccer programs, as well as local high schools. When she was with the South Carolina Women’s Soccer Team, they won the 2019 SEC tournament championship. She gained experience through an immersive internship with the inaugural Clemson Softball team, the 2021 ACC Regular Season Champions.
Hoover is a Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification and is licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. Hoover is a former member of the NCATA Public Relations Committee where she led the NCATA Social Media Committee. She is an American Heart Association BLS Instructor, and holds additional certifications in Suji BFR, Dry Needling, Mental Health First Aid USA, and QPR Suicide Prevention Training,
