Clay Walker currently serves as the General Manager of NIL for Playfly Max for University of Virginia Athletics. Prior to his role in managing commercial marketing opportunities for UVA student-athletes, he served as the general manager of ECU Sports Properties.

Walker previously held senior leadership roles with USA TODAY Sports and the NFL Players Association, where he was part of the initial team that launched NFL PLAYERS INC, the first commercial athlete marketing program in professional sports.

While Walker was with NFLPA, he negotiated the first licensing deal with CLC to include player names on the back of college football jerseys, including Peyton Manning (Tennessee), Deion Sanders (Florida State) and Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State).

Walker also negotiated the first licensing deal to include NFL players in the Madden NFL video game and served as the Chairman of the Fantasy Sports Association, where he’s credited with being the first person to license and commercialize fantasy sports.

In 2005, Walker was the first person from a sports labor union to make the Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list of most influential people in sports business.

Clay earned a B.A. in English from East Carolina University, an M.B.A. from Colorado State University and an M.S. in labor relations from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
