Elizabeth Sowards joined the Virginia Athletics Foundation in October of 2025. In her current role, she assists with all marketing and communication campaign development and execution, leads the VAF social media strategy across all platforms and delivers content marketing.
A native of Davidson, North Carolina, Elizabeth earned her bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Sport Administration with a minor in Business from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2025. While at Carolina, she was a member of the Women's Swim Team for four years, serving as a team captain for two.
Prior to joining the VAF, she gained experience with 23XI Racing as a Marketing Intern and with the YES Network as a Communications Intern. She also participated in Coach for College, a global initiative that promotes higher education through sport in Southeast Vietnam.
