Jack Byers, a Pennsylvania native, joined the Virginia Athletic Communications Department as an assistant director in August of 2026. He works primarily with the UVA Baseball and Volleyball programs.
Prior to joining the Cavaliers staff, he served as an Athletic Communications Assistant at Troy University (2024-26). During his tenure at Troy, Byers served as the communications contact for the Trojans’ baseball and women’s soccer programs which concluded with Troy Baseball’s first-ever appearance in the Men’s College World Series in 2026.
Before his time at Troy, Byers worked as a student intern in the Athletic Communications Department at Mississippi State University (2024) after two years as an intern covering Mississippi State athletics for Rivals.com (2022-23).
Byers earned his Bachelor of Science in sport administration from Mississippi State University in 2024.
