Katy Hewitt

Katy Hewitt joined the Virginia football performance nutrition staff in March of 2026. She came to Virginia after spending the previous two years at Georgia Tech.

Hewitt began her tenure at Georgia Tech as a football nutrition fellow in 2024 and was hired full time in the summer of 2025 as an assistant football dietitian. She also spent time as the interim softball dietitian before departing for Charlottesville.

After earning her bachelor's degree in Dietetics from the University of Georgia in 2022, Hewitt went on to acquire her Dietetic Internship Certificate from Samford University in 2023. While at Samford she served as a dietetic intern where she contributed to several different areas including Princeton Baptist Hospital, Trussville City Schools, Samford Summer Cooking Camps for Teens and the Central Alabama Food Bank.

Hewitt is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Sports and Performance Dietitian Association and the Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She holds dietitian licenses from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and the State of Georgia.
